Zeroing the A2

I finally got around to zeroing my white oak A2. It has nifty mechanical zero front sight base adjustments.

There are three set screws one on either side of the FSB and one on the bottom. To adjust the windage, loosen the bottom screw just a bit, loosen the screw on the opposite side in which you want to move POI and tighten the screw on the other side. So if you want to move POI to the right loosen the screw on the left.

Elevation works the same as any other front sight post if you want POI to move up turn the front sight post clockwise, in the direction of the “up” arrow.

I’m very happy with the WOA it performed very nicely. I did remove the handgaurd weight as it seemed to open the groups up a bit. I may make some other changes to balance it better as its a little butt heavy.

White Oak Service Rifle Range Report

Took the new white oak service rifle out for its first trip to the range.

Needles to say I am very happy with its performance.

This is group is from the bench at a SR-1 target at 100 yards. Today was really just a function test I’ll work on zeroing it next weekend, as you see it will need a couple clicks up.

The Geissele service rifle trigger I installed is just as good as the reviews. Breaks clean and crisp every time.

I’m excited to take her to a match and see what she can do.

White Oak Service Rifle here!

18-20 weeks later the White Oak service rifle upper I ordered has arrived. It will be a couple weeks until I get it built however I am already impressed with its quality clearly a lot of care was taken in building it. Hopefully I’ll get it together in time for a high power match before the end of the year. Of course I will have to man up and learn to shoot sitting.

And here she is all built. Just waiting on a new turner sling.

White Oak Service Rifle

I finally ordered a White Oak CMP service rifle upper. In 16-20 weeks I’ll post pictures.

It was a very pleasant ordering experience the women on the phone answered all of my stupid questions and even made some suggestions.

Here’s what i ordered:

CMP Upper Pre-Ban
Front Sight Post (NM-.062)
Rear Sight 1/4 min
Pinned Rear sight

Now to turn that $50 Stripped lower from Palmetto State Armory’s Black Friday sale into a match rifle lower. Of course I will have to learn the sitting position now. That sounds fun.
